I have a copy of a letter written by Joseph L. Tyack written for the "benefit of the descendants" of his sister Susanna Martha Tyack Hickson (my gggrandmother). Written after her death in 1905, he mentions that their father, Samuel Tyack, was a native of Truro, Cornwall, and around 1832, "came out to Virginia in the interest of a gold miming company to develop the Union Mine in Fauquier County." He stated that the Tyack's were descended from Sir Rawlings Tyack, but "little effort had been made to trace the pedigree." Does anyone have any additional info?
