Hello Nancy and Janet,
Joshua Jackson Tye, son of George and Margaret Leah "Peggy," Pearce were my great grandparents. After the CW in c. 1867, three Tye brothers, George W, James, and Wickliffe came to Texas for a new start and settled in Oak Grove (part of Burleson) Ft. Worth, Tarrant County, TX.In 1873 Reuben Pearce Tye joined his uncles in Texas, but returned to Kentucky. In 1877, he returned to Texas with his new bride, Sussannah Tye, daughter of his uncle Joshua Jackson Tye, his aunts Louanna Tye Faulknier and Margaret Leah Tye Evans and her six children.Joshua Jackson whose wife was Permelia Celinda Brassfield moved to Texas, but later settled in West Texas near Abilene.Reuben became a physician and practiced in Texas and Oklahoma.I don't know about theRunyon family. I am working to enter the records for Joshua Jackson Tye and immediate relatives into my computer.I don't know how the Woods were connected. You are entitled for membership in NSDAR on John G. Tye as it is an excellent place to record your family history. Descendants of Mary "Polly" Tye Gibson who was a sister to Rebecca are also in Texas.
