You may have the reason Wylie info. is so hard to trace.
The reason I had it that he was the son of Joshua is from a letter my great grandmother, Lucy Jane Tye wrote about the family in 1912. She says of her husband, John Henry Tye and herself,
"...We had the same grandfather but different grandmothers. His grandmother was grandfather's second wife, which makes us half brother's children. His mother, Sabra R. Hart, married Wiley Tye, half brother to my father..."
I never could find any reference to a second wife of Joshua and the dates of Wilie's birth are diverse. One source says 1805 and another says 1814. His wife, Sabra Hart was born in 1820 though which makes me think the better date for his birth would just make them 6 years apart instead of 15. But who knows? Maybe someone else can add a bit to the puzzle. Thanks for your information. I will be aware of anything that would point to the correct mother. Lois
