Hello Brenda,
Thank you for your message.It is possible that there might be an indirect link between our two family trees since Eltham and Greenwich (where my GGGrandfather lived) are so closely situated.I believe my GGG was born around 1800 and his son Alexander (my G/Grandfather) was born in 1844 - comtemporary with YOUR James - maybe they were cousins.
I am finding it very difficult to get any information further back than Alexander, but should anything come to light that connects I'll let you know.
