Dear Geraldine,
I was so excited to see your message.I've been messing about on the internet for years trying to do a bit of family research, but without any result. The 1901 census gave me my firstinformation. You are my second cousin by the looks of it. My father was Donald Tye, born in Leeds in 1904. Your grandmother Gladys was his sister. To help with your research I can tell you what else I've gleaned, and that is that Peter Tye was born in Hutchesontown, Glasgow in 1869 (14th January). He was difficult to find because his surname is entered as Tay. His father was Andrew Tay and his mother was Mary McGuire. They were married, according to Peters register of birth, in Belturbet, Ireland in July 1857. My reason for research is more to do with the more recent past and I'd love to find out anything you might know about the family. I'd be happy to explain. My e-mail address is [email protected]
Hope to hear from you.
Regards, Pat Atalla (nee Tye)
