Hi Gail. I have been going over the records posted here and especially your postings with Sharon Withers about Lambeth Tye. You have some very good points about the life of Lambert and his connection to the Richard Tye family. Sure do appreciate the way you are going about this research and trying to get confirmation through the existing records.
I do have a question though re. the birth date of Lambert/Lambeth Tye.
In the following:
"Taken from the court records of Virginia, the testimony offers conflicting statements about the behavior of a white woman and slave men one August afternoon in 1681........ The Deposition of Lambert Tye aged about 26 yeares"
Now if Lambert were born 26 years before 1681, his birth would have been c. 1655 and could then be one of the children of Richard and Joyce Boyce whom Richard married in 1644. Richard didn't die until c.1659 and that would have made Lambeth about four years old at the time he lost his father.
So it seems to me that if all the above dates were registered accurately (which we never know for sure) Lambeth was perhaps not too young to have been a son of Richard and Joyce.
Am I way off base? Let me know.
