Cathy,
I believe Sarah is a daughter of Henry Tye.
A while ago I put together what I could find about Sarah's family. I was tracing the line of Allen Tye through his son Anderson Tye b.1741.
I found a Tye widow named Mollie, living with four children in Richmond, Va. during the revolutionary war. Most researchers assumed she was the wife of John Tye who eventually settled in Kentucky. But John, at that time, was known to have been living in N.Carolina/Tennessee with his own wife, another Mollie and their family.
There were few Tye families in VA at this time and finding this Tye widow and her family brought Anderson Tye to my mind. At that time there was nothing to be found about Anderson and his family.
Then I found four Tyes who were born about the same time in VA and several had settled in Georgia. Their roots were not known which had been a puzzle for a long time. Eventually I could place these Tyes as probable descendents of Anderson. One of these was Henry b.C. 1765. Evidently he was the Tye living in Culpepper County.
I'm almost certain that Sarah was born about 1810 to Henry's second wife. She had a sister, Ann born b.c. 1807.The girls married two Hansbrough brothers. There is also a Mary Tye b.c.1822 who may be a younger sister.
Now, please take this information as probable only. I can find little proof. But I believeI have found the missingline of Anderson Tye and explained the reason no one had found the parents and ancestors of many of the Tyes that settled in Georgia.
There is much more related information on an earlier posting of mine Date: December 24, 2008 at 14:25:16
