Dear Lois,
Thank you for responding.I greatly appreciate your thoughts on this matter. And how very funny that the examination of Katherine Watkins included a deposition from Lambert Tye!Henry Watkins, and we assume Katherine, are my ancestors!I am descended from Henry’s son Thomas “of Swift Creek” Watkins, and have of course read the details of Katherine’s bad behavior, but had totally forgotten the names of those who made deposition against her!I should tell you that I have been studying the Tye’s for my best friend, who is a Tye descendant (her mother was a Tye).Lynn would get a kick out of the possible coincidence in our histories.
I have found it very odd that there is seemingly so little information about the Tye’s after Lambert; little information in the 18th century? My friend Lynn’s ancestor is picked up with John Tye who was 1820 in Abbeville, SC.
Thank you again for your reply.Virginia
