I only have some sketchy information on my mother's side which goes back two generations. My grandmother's maiden name was Tyers. She was Henrietta Ada Tyers. She was born in India probably around 1880, and I do know that her father was an engineer and came over to India from England in the late 1800's. However, I do not know his name or the exact dates.

I know that he was involved with the railway in some significant way, and from other (also sketchy records) I think it was specifically manufacturing railway cars.

With the possibility of this being a link, here's some more information: Henrietta Ada Tyers married William Robert Kelly in India. I don't know the date, but my mother, born in 1918 in Kanpur in India, was their youngest of six children. From some time before 1918 until she died in about 1942 of small pox, Henrietta lived in Siwait, near Allahabad.

My mother's name was Agnes Margaret Kelly. She married Howard Wilkins Fordham (from Canada) at Siwait in 1942 and they served as missionaries there. They had four children, one of whom is me. They moved to Canada in 1968. My mother passed away in 2000.

It would be amazing if there was some link here. I'd like to find out more of my family history.
