So, if Daniel Ubil McCurdy was born of a male Ubil, how does McCurdy come into it? Was it a name he decided upon himself later in life? I have Daniel Ubil who m. Esther Talbot, but I only have info on one child: Rachel Ubil who was born 1804 and married Samuel Ludwig Custer (1793-1870) in 1830. Rachel d. 1860. They had two children, that I know of: Ludwig Talbot Custer (b 1835) and William Ubil Custer.
