My maternal great grandfather was Christian Ude born April 4, 1835 in Helmschorode, Braunschweig, Germany and Christian settled in Hersey, Michigan.
His father was Heinrich Andreas Johann Ude born Sept 11, 1796 in Klein-Rhuden, Braunschweig, Germany and married on Jan 29th, 1827 in Gerenrode, Braunschweig, Germany to Maria Johanna Mennechke and they died in Elberfeld, Warrick County, Indiana.
His father was Johann Georg Uhde born about 1764 in Mechtschausen, Germany who married Johanna Buschbaum born about 1768. They were married in Klein Rhuden, Braunschweig, Germany and he died there Nov. 18, 1840.
I have a brother named George who was named after my grandfather George Henry Ude. George Henry Ude was born July 19, 1883 in Capac, Michigan. He married Isabel Louise Northrup in Flint, Michigan. They had two children and named their son Oliver Christian Ude and their daughter ( my Mom) Frances Isabel Ude. My Mom married Harold Carpenter in Flint Michigan so her name became Frances Carpenter and my brothers name is George Carpenter and I am Suzette Carpenter with my married name of Galloway.
I would be interested to find out if you think our Ude line is related.
My brother found some one in Germany to research the information about our ancestors in Germany.
