Just finally looked at the message board again after much time. Thanks you for the info. Sounds like you lived in Gittelde. I would really enjoy more information. A cousin, Kat Ude, who is a Delta Fight Attendant, visited Gittelde a few years ago and brought back photos of the old church and of the church register showing my great grand parents and some of their children. She wasn't able to visit any of the Udes still there but did visit with descendents of my gg grandmother whose surname was Giesecke.
Have more info for you if you're still working on genealogy.
