I am Annette Eudy Carpenter and have recently started a more in-depth genealogy search -- and came across this message when searching through similar surnames. My ancestors settled in North Carolina in the early-mid 1700's --supposedly 3 brothers came together from Wertheim, Germany with the surname "Uthe" and fought in the Revolutionary war and were given land in NC. David Gottfried Uthe had 2 sons --Conrad and Daniel who were born in the 1750's in what is now Stanley County, NC..and sometime the name was changed to Eudy. I am Conrad's g-g-g-g-g-g- granddaughter! Please let me know if your friend with the Eudy connection might have more detailed info for me, or if I can be of assistance to anyone else searching for connections to the Eudy name.
