I would like to add a correction to the "Pride of Lions" book. The book states on page 195 that Mary Udy/Ewdy (1712) daughter of John Udy and Martha Bliss married John Nichols. This is not the correct Mary Udy. The Mary Udy (March 24, 1716- Luxulyan) that married John Nicholls was a daughter of Nicholas Udy and Thomazine Giles, page 185. Mary (Udy) (Nicholls) Mark wrote a Will on October 13, 1784. After John Nicholls died Mary Udy married Henry Mark. Henry Mark's son Philip Mark married Elizabeth Nicholls, daughter of Mary Udy and John Nicholls. In Mary's Will she mentions her children and grandchildren and her beloved nephew William Briant, who was the executor of her will. This William Briant was the son of Jane Udy (page 182), daughter of Nicholas Udy and Thomazine Giles, and John Brian/Briant. I would conclude that Mary Udy and Jane Udy were sisters and both daughters of Nicholas Udy and Thomazine Giles.
I have three connections to the Udy family. Mary Udy married John Nicholls, page 185 (mentioned above); Ann Udy (May 1, 1808 Bodmin), daughter of William Udy and Ann Werry, page 199; Catherine Udy (April 12 1740 - Luxulyan) married Thomas Lukey, page 159. If anyone is from these lines and would like to compare notes, please contact me.
