THe Udy family is originally from Cornwall, England. I can trace most Udys back to about 1508...however, there are a lot of John Udys...I don't suppose you know who John's parents were or who he married?

Hart is also a family name of the Udys, so I suspect that perhaps Frederick was named for one of his ancestors.
