I am doing my family genealogy and working on the UDY name at the moment. At the moment I have only gone back as far as my g-g-grandfather William Udy born 14 June 1838 and married Anne Marie Ticehurst in 1863, I am guessing in New Zealand. They had 11 children together. So far I know two of them were born in Greytown, New Zealand so I am guessing that all of them were born there.
Any information on William, his children and his line going back to Cornwall (im guessing Cornwall because of all the information I have been reading on this site about the Udy name). I would really like to know about the first Udy’s that came to New Zealand.
Also and information on the following names would be a great help…
Isabella Campbell who married Edwin William Udy in 1890
Herbert Hodge who married Maude Mary Udy in 1888. and there two children Delia and Ronald.
Jane Clements who married Harry Hart Udy (date unsure of)
Alexander Campbell who married Mary Ellen Udy in 1892
? Armstrong who married Charlotte Udy
Violet Miller who married Dan Knight Udy (date unsure of)
Andrew James Thompson who married Kate Ann Udy 13 June 1910 in Greytown, NZ)
? Leppein who married Emily Udy (date unsure of)
? Whiteman who married Sara Udy (date unsure of)
? Beluie or Biluie (unsure of spelling) who married Ada Udy.
