Okay, let me clean up the file I have some more. My father-in-law gave me the file he had and I've been trying to clarify places that were not written out correctly. I've also been matching and merging duplicate people. I spent all day yesterday working on it.
I can send it to you when I'm done. Would you prefer a PAF or GEDCOM file?
I also called a distant relative, who is a decendant of James (though through a different wife) who is into genealogy and who may have more info.
I'm excited!
