Eric:
I am also a decendant of the Udy family of Lanlivery, Cornwall. My line is from Degory Udy down to my great grandmother who was Jane Udy. She married Henry Vague and the family left Cornwall and settled here in the Markham area of York County, Ontario. Have you ever heard of the Udy Reunions that have been helld every five years? The last one was last year here in Canada - Vancouver, BC, and my two cousins and I were able to attend and enjoyed it so much. There is also a book published about the family called "A Pride of Lions".
Do you still live in Cornwall? We met quite a number of "cousins" from Cornwall at the reunion. One family was quite closely related to us so of course we are keeping in touch.
Sorry I did not answer sooner but I am in the process of moving from a house into an apartment. A big job. I hope this helps you and I have quite a lot of information about the family so write to me if you are interested in it.
Jean Clelland
