In our research, we find the Uerkvitz name intertwined with the above names coming from the Pensin and Isle of Rugen in Pommerania, Germany areas. There is a village on the Isle of Rugen that is called Uerkfitz. A researcher in Germany sent a chart to me tracing the name back to the 1300's. He was also an Uerkvitz. I would appreciate hearing from any descendant bearing any of the above variantly spelled Surnames.
