Navigation Help -- Closing record

We have UFT 3.0. It seems difficult to navigate because we cannot easily close an individual record. The "x" at the upper right of individual records is ghosted. Is there a way to enable the "x" -- so that you can easily close a record?

Is there an update/upgrade that can be downloaded? I saw one posted here but had no luck following it. Maybe it doesn't exist anymore?
