Dear Jeff:
I am doing the Gilroy Family of Durham County. I have no one from about thta time but found an Andrew Gilroy in the 1851 U.K. census: Andrew Gilroy HEAD age 44, Ann Gilroy , wife, age 38, Children: John Gilroy son age 7, Elizabeth Ann Gilroy age 6 months.
Andrew is listed as a Plaster and born in Broom Park, NE, Ann was born in Richmond, Yorkshire, John was born in Lambeth,SRY ans Elizabeth was born in Newcastle NBI.
The census was taken in Newcastle U Tyne in Northumberland at Number 282 Harle Street, listed on Page 11. I got this information from "Kindred Connections Inc." Web site.
It could be that they had other children. John was born in 1844 and Elizabeth was born in 1850. I hope this helps you. I was hoping to tie this family in with mine because they have names common in my family : John and Andrew but the closest relative to Andrew's age B. 1807 was John Tindel Gilroy B. 1790.
