http://castlegarden.org/ - shows Frederick Darling (aged 22) and Samuel (aged 28) arriving in 1852 on the ship E. Buckley. Is this your Frederick? This is what I can find of the family later in life: 1900, Cincinatti: Joseph Darling, b. Ohio Jan 1863, father b. Ireland, mother b. Germany. Married 16 years, living with wife, daughters, and mother Rosella "Mayer" (widowed). Death in 1935: Emma F. Darling Ellis, b. 1859, married to Hiram Ellis, parents Frederick Darling, b. Ireland, and Rosela Hermann, b. Germany I am having trouble finding them on 1860, 1870, 1880 censuses. It seems likely that Frederick died young and Rosella remarried, perhaps more than once which may be causing the problem. Do you have any idea where they were in these censuses? I also can't see a marriage for them in England/Wales, although a John Ehrman did die in London in 1848. Possibly they met aboard ship and married on the way there or upon arrival into the US.
