My wife is a Ulibarri. According to her, her family came from Basque, a small territory between France and Spain. Even her family isn't quite sure of the origins. They theorize that it is an orginal Basque name from the days of Roman occupation of Basque. You should check out some of the "Basque" oriented websites.
