I remember hearing that my Ulrich forebears came from Posen.

My great great grandfather ran a tailor shop in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. His name was August Ulrich, and he married Anna Holz, who was Swiss. I don't know his father's name but my notes say he immigrated from Posen.

My grandfather, Harry August Ulrich, was the second youngest of his 9 children, and he was born in 1895. Other children included Louis, Irwin, Clara, Ella.

My grandfather died in 1970. He was a schoolteacher and an ordained minister. I am not in contact with any of his brothers' or sisters' descendants (fortunately, the same is not true of my other three grandparents!) However, I do know that his brother Louis was a principal in the Milwaukee schools, published a textbook, and lived into his 90's. As far as I know, the whole family of that generation lived and died in the Milwaukee area.

Hope this helps you. I would love to hear if you come up with anything interesting. I am just getting started in geneology myself.

Sincerely,
Sharon Ulrich

Hope this helps.
