It sounds like we pronanly have a match, although there is some confusion whether August and Gustav were brothers or the same person.

We always thought my great grandfather was named August (my grandfather’s middle name), but on the 1930 census he is shown as Gustav – and it is DEFINITELY my grampa’s dad. Their children wer Clara, Athur, Louis, Ella, possibly a Josephine, baby twins who died in Antigp, then my Grampa Harry a d the youngest Irvin/Erwin. I have a picture of the whole family from about 1900 that I can email you.

I would like to find out more about the family bible, and I am very happy to send more information. I have tracked Gustav down in Antigo from the founding of the Lutheran church there. I can also share an article I transcribed from an online document. I also have Louis’s obituary. He was a principal and professor, and authored an arithmetic text. One of his sons is a pastor, the other, I believe, a doctor. I only saw Great Uncle Louie once, at my grampa’s funeral.

More when I hear back from you.
