My ancestor's - Jacob UPP - will was probated April 18, 1767 by the following: Peter BENTZ of Dover Twp - Tavern
Keeper, Philip BENTZ of York - Town Yeoman, and Michael HAHN of York - Blacksmith.
Jacob UPP's will was written May 19, 1758. Executors of the will were sons Jacob and Peter UPP. The following heirs were
Spouse - Catherina
Daughter - Elisabeth and her husband Peter Bentz
Sons: Jacop UPP and Peter UPP
Representatives of son Nicholas UPP (deceased)
The following were listed but no commas were between the names so I don't know if they are all first or first and middle names.
They were listed as a separate item after daughter Catherine but didn't state if they were her children and spouse or the family
of a deceased daughter:
Nicholas Andreas Balsar Anna Margreta Catherina Children of Christoper KNERTZER.
Daughter - Louisa UPP
Daughter - Sophia
Jacob made his mark on the will - a circle - and written next to his mark was Jacob ob
Sons Jacob and Peter signed a renouncement to their rights to the Executorship of their father's will and administration on
March 30, 1767, but "saving nevertheless all our right to the legacies to us by the said will", witnessed by Thomas HARTLEY.
Jacob signed as Jacob ob and Peter made his mark.
Peter Upp is my direct ancestor.
