Hello Doris: Unfortunately, I know absolutely nothing about Katherine/Catherine Upp. In fact, I just learned her name (and Jonathan's) when I recently received a copy of my ggrandfather's death certificate. His name was Charles Emery Johnston, born in Ohio about 1854. He had at least one younger brother, William or Willis. The two boys ended up in the Colorado mining town of Silver Cliffe, and Charles later came to California where he died in 1932. He had a total of 8 children by two different wives, and I am gradually collecting information on this far-flung bunch. I would LOVE to make a connection with that earlier generation. Thanks for your response, and please let me know if any of this is familiar.
