My husband's father was Boleslaw Urbanowicz (later William Urban). He was born in a little village outside Vilnius. At that time it was a part of Russia, then Poland, and now Lithuania. He had Russian citizenship. He came to the USA around 1913 to escape the Czar and the revolution, through the Port of Boston. He had relatives in Springfield, MA. Later lived in New York City where my husband Bronislaw (changed to Bernard) was born. So the name can be Russian, Polish, or Lithuanian - all depends on the era. Perhaps there's a connection with you here.
Genevie Hawkins Urban
