One free website you can check is the London GRO FreeBMD Index Search at http://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.plhttp://freebmd.rootsweb.com/cgi/search.plFor instance, I noticed Robert Urquhart married Louisa Martin in the September quarter of 1899 in Medway, Kent, Ella Victoria Urquhart was born in the March quarter of 1907 in Maidstone, Kent, and Harold Cecil Urquhart was born in the March quarter of 1909 in Dover, Kent. You can order certificates on-line from the London GRO at http://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/home.asphttp://www.gro.gov.uk/gro/content/home.asp
A reasonably priced pay-per-view website is Scotlands People at http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/http://www.scotlandspeople.gov.uk/Scotland's civil registration started in 1855, so you could look at Robert Urquhart's birth record, and learn his parents names.
Checking Louisa's Aug 1873 birth in the GRO index, and then looking at the 1881 UK census on Ancestry, Louisa could be living in Wandsworth, London/Surrey with parents James and Sarah, and her siblings (no Quiller in the houshold).
This same family is in Wandsworth in the 1891 UK census, and James is now a widower.
James Martin is still living in Wandsworth in 1901, but I could not find Robert and Louisa Urquhart in the 1901 UK census.
