Houghton le Spring on 5-25-1834) this couple lived at Hetton and had 5 girls and 3 boys with one
daughter being married by 1859.

The above part of your entry interests me. My great-great-great-grandmother Jane Greives (spelled 'ei' as in your copy of the letter) was born in Washington, County Durham, in 1835 and married John Hunter in Sunderland in 1857. Her father's name was William Greives, a brakesman.

What do you make of the similarities?
