Question about Urwin History (email to me personally)

I thought that I would post this email here on the forum, so that anyone can respond to it. I hope that it is ok with Stuart that I did this.

My name is Stuart Robert Urwin and born in the north east of England. I am trying to carry out a detailed search of my family roots and would love to hear from anyone connected with my family name to contact me with any relevant information as to where our name originates and the earliest documented recordings. I am lead to believe that the original name goes back to the King of Northumberland around the 11th or 12th century.

In my original research, that I have since discounted, I traced a line of Urwins back to Alexander Urwen b. @ 1654. This turned out not to be my line, but I kept it unlinked in my database.
