I had a great great great (plus or minus one "great" in there) grandfather Thomas Adophus Urwin who lived in New Zealand. As I recall he was serving on HMS Victory when the ship was dispatched to New Zealand during the Maori Wars. Its been a joke in the family that some how the ship left without him and he settled down in NZ. I don't have all the details committed to memory; but my grandmother is in town visiting and she's quite keen on the family history so I'll see what she and I can find for you.

Best wishes,

Derek Urwin
