Johnson, Moses: Alton, IL

I have a Moses Johnson who enlisted in Alton, IL 21 June 1847. Was discharged at N. Orleans date unknown. He is listed with a disability. I'm trying to find more info about him to determine if he is my grgr grandfather. My Moses lived in IL when his daughter Eliza was born and his son Abner was born in Texas. They later moved to Missouri. His wife's name was Mary or Mariah.
