John S. Watts is on a list as a soldier in Doniphan's Reg in a booklet entitled "Westport 1812-1912". He is also listed in the online Missouri Gov. archives: John S. Watts, 1 Reg. MO Mounted Volunteers. I would like to find out if this was the John S. Watts, b. 1787 KY or his son John S. Watts, Jr. b. 1827 KY and where the 1 Reg. served.
