Seek information on the U.S. Army contracted transport out of New Orleans, the 'Gen. Hamer', and it's civilian master, LtCol (1850's Holmes Co., Miss., militia, born Wilmington, N.C., 1811, died Biloxi, Miss., 1882) Robert Wm. James, son of Joshua and Hetty-Bella Sage James, Sr., of Lexington, Miss.
Jim, Southport, N.C.
