I hope someone can help me with this.
I am looking for John ERWIN b-abt.1817 TN.d-abt.1894 Joplin, TX.
It is said that he served in the Mexican War under a Capt. BUTLER. He ferried women and children across the Angelina River at Nacogdoches, TX. John ERWIN was to also have served in a ranger force...
Is there a way I can get a list of the men that served under Capt. BUTLER, I do not have a first name for Capt. BUTLER. And does anyone know anything about a ranger force in abt. 1838....The Mexican War I think was after John ERWIN ranger force.....
Appreciate any help....
Thank you,
Nelda
