[top cut off] ‘Bulletin’ -- …Associated Veterans of the Mexican War will hold a meeting this evening to make preparations for the funeral of Capt. Wm. RANKIN. Captain RANKIN died yesterday afternoon, aged 44 years. In 1846 he went into the Mexican war, and was chosen 1st Lieutenant, Co. I, 2nd Regiment, Pennsylvania Volunteers. He was actively engaged in the battles of Verra Cruz, Cerro Gordo, Contreras, Chapeltepec, Garita de Belen and the City of Mexico.

DISPATCHES --
From San Francisco, June 15 --
-The funeral of the late Captain RANKIN took place this afternoon. The hearse was escorted by detachments of regulars United States artillery and infantry, and followed by the Associated Veterans of the Mexican War, with a full band and colors draped, and a long line of carriages with citizens. A salute was fired from Alcatraz as the procession marched through Montgomery street.
