I have a photo I'm guessing is from the 1840's he is wearing a shako with the letter H on the front dressed in an officers uniform with flat shoulder plates of which I know not the proper name. There on to of the shako sits a round fuzzy looking ball. I believe his residence was in Indiana at the time of the Mexican War. Later to continue service in the Civil War. Trying to determine if this is a Military school graduation photograph? I think he is a 1st Lt. in this photo but not familiar with the uniforms to know for sure? My question is does anyone know anything about this uniform and is it from the Mexican War era? Also would anyone have any info on Adoniram Russell I would appreciate your response?
Thank You
Brain Glenn
