C. M. Caldwell received a pension Jan 1888 of $8.00 for his service in the Mexican War. Family history noted he was with Fremont. Calohill and his brother Arthur Caldwell,it is assumed, both joined from MO possibly Jackson Co. Family history also notes that Calohill was back in Mo by 1848 when he was married.
