Thank you so much for sending these...I'll take a look more closely at it tomorrow.

I have no idea if William was his middle name...I have only ever seen him listed as "William" (church records and censuses). I feel reasonably certain that that was his first name.

Strangely, the story about him being in the Mexican War (and dying out there) may be just that...a story. The man would have been in his 70s in the 1840s, so that gives me some reason to think it was all just a concoction.

In the meantime, I have always wanted to at least see a roster, so the information you have sent is extremely helpful. I look forward to searching through it.
