"Major" David Gilbert, Alabama
Posted by: Jane Gilbert (ID *****9010) Date: August 31, 2012 at 14:25:44

Can anyone with resources check for evidence of a Major David Gilbert of Limestone Co., AL being involved in the Mexican War? He's referred to as "Major" in several documents, but none of his descendants have found evidence of military service. He was born in 1796 and moved to Alabama in the early 1830s.

Thanks very much!

Jane
