John McAlister/Mexican War

From Family History need information on John W. McAlister. Any spelling last name. Middle initial may have been W. First marriage to Sarah. Last name believed to be Akin. May have had a second marriage to Pettit. First name believed to be Susan. John was born abt. 1810 in TN. He lived in KY, AR,and TX. He received Land Warrant for his service, which is believed he claimed in TX. He died there in 1853. I ordered and received from the Nat' Archives the documents on the wrong John McAlister. The wrong John was born 1820 in Washington Co. KY. He served in Co. I, 4th KY Inf. (file 752). His warrant #45522 was for 160 acres.

Is there a roster of those who served in the Mexican War? Hopefully there is more than one John McAlister that served in the Mexcan War.

Any suggestion will be appreciated.
