I’ve reposted this to add some information and to put it in the order it appears in the book.

According to the information in the handwritten book:
Richard Francis Maher was born Sept 27, 1874 at Brewster, NYork.
His mother, Mary, died November 2, 1879 and therefore wouldn’t appear in the 1880 U.S. Census.
She was buried in the Catholic cemetery at Brewster according to her husband, John Valentine Maher.
We learn from the 1880 U.S. Census that John and his parents were born in Ireland. John would have been born about 1837. His marital status is listed as W (widower). His occupation is listed as Stone Cutter. We also learn that John’s mother was born in England.

Richard Francis Maher was born Sept 27, 1874 and would have been only about 16 years old in 1890, the date of this directory. However, it wasn’t unusual for young men to be working at that age at that time.
Hope this helps someone.
