When posting a query like this at least try to give some approximate dates.

1930/CA/SanFrancisco/SanFrancisco
Stubbles, Russell L/head/37/marr@21/MA IL OH/switchman, railroad
Stubbles, Ethel M/wife/36/marr@15/IN IL IN
Stubbles, Charles R/son/13/IL
Stubbles, Carrie M/dau/12/IL
Wood, Lydia, mother-in-law/62/marr@23/IN IL IN
Wood, Paul/bro-in-law/25/divorced/IN IL IN
Biller, Benjamin/ro-in-law35/marr@21/IN IL IN

1920/CA/Marin/SanRafael
Stubbles, Russell/head/26/married/MA IL OH/laborer, iron works
Stubbles, Myrtle/wife/22/married/IN KY IN
Stubbles, Charles/son/3y5m/IL
Stubbles, Carrie/dau/1y11m/IL

Interestingly, this family was also enumerated in Peoria for the same census so they must have moved to California sometime in January of 1920.

Russell was the son of Charles and Carrie Stubbles of Waltham, MA, where they are all found in the 1900 census. Russell has two brothers, Roy and Earl. Charles Stubbles married Carrie A. Ridenour on 16 May 1883 in Sangamon, IL.

CA Death Index:
Russell L. Stubbles
b. 22 Feb 1893 in Massachusetts
d. 10 Nov 1961 in Santa Clara Co
mother's maiden name: Ridnour

WWI Draft Card
Russell Lowell Stubbles
514 N. Perry Ave, Peoria, IL
dob 22 Feb 1893 in Waltham MA
occupation: City fireman in Peoria
Prior military service: Private, Co. H, __?, IL National Guard
Dependents: wife and child

I can't find anything beyond this for Charles, other than he was in the Marine Corps in the late 30's.
Nancy
