Has anyone researched the Jacob Bowers family listed in the 1850 and 1860 Augusta Co., VA census? Here's the 1850 census information for the household.
District 2 1/2:
Bowers, Jacob age 50 b. ca. 1800 VA
Bowers, Mary age 50 b. ca. 1800 VA
Bowers, Betsy age 24 b. ca. 1826 VA
Bowers, George age 23 b. ca. 1827 VA
Bowers, Maud age 22 b. ca. 1828 VA
Bowers, Henry age 20 b. ca. 1830 VA
Bowers, Sarah also age 20 b. ca. 1830 VA
Bowers, Catharine age 18 b. ca. 1832 VA
Bowers, Philip age 14 b. ca. 1836 VA
Bowers, Mary age 12 b. ca. 1838 VA
In 1860 the family is still living in Augusta Co., Post Office Staunton. Some of the children are not in the household in 1860. I am trying to prove the maiden name of this Jacob Bower's wife. Any help much appreciated.
