I have traced my family to Nicholas Spring, the records I found show he was born in 1730 in Virginia. In 1765 he married Margaret Cloninger, born 1752, in Augusta County, Virginia. Nicholas received a land grant of 100 acres in Bledsoe County, Tennessee on March 1, 1809, for service in the American Revolution.
From what I have read Nicholas and Valentine Cloninger (not sure whether Margaret's brother or father) were Constables in Augusta County, and had several land holdings.
Nicholas and Margaret had six children, Catherine, Nicholas Jr, Valentine, Mary, David, and John (my family line) who married Nancy Moore on 4/18/1802, no information on where marriage took place.
Anyone out there have any more information? I would love to go back further if possible. I am new to this; any guidance would be appreciated
