I am a researcher in Charlotte/Lunenburg/Prince Edward County. The name "Sublet" would immediately point to Manakintown, Powhatan, Virginia, which was a large French settlement near Richmond, Virginia. They spread out from there, with many in the Charlotte/Prince Edward area. I am available to do local research/document retrieval for a fee. Please contact me if you are interested.
See this link http://www.fpehs.org/bibliography.html (under books) for examples of my previous work in this area.
Bill Andersen, Jr.
