In the photo collection of an elderly relative, I recently came across a picture of a young woman labeled EFFIE ALLEN SHENK. The picture was taken by C Fred Barr, photographer, of Winchester, Virginia.
No one in the family has any idea who she was or how she was connected to our family. I had previously posted a query regarding pictures of a family outside a home - these pictures being taken by Whitaker photographers of Berryville, Virginia. Probably there is a connection between these and Effie Shenk, but we have no knowledge of any family members in that area.
A search of census records and of trees posted online shows that Effie married Thomas Powell Jolliffe.
Any information on these families, and any relatives that they might have had in Kansas or Missouri might help us solve this mystery.
