I was very interested in your message as I am a descendant of Bartholomew Anderson through his son Abraham, who was also a Revolutionary War soldier. Some years ago I hired a genealogist who traced the family back to New Amsterdam as you said.
I would like to know more about this family's early life in the colonies, and their migration to Virginia. I am reading "The Island at the Center of the World" by Russell Shorto, about the Dutch period. Very interesting.
