PETER BYRAM & MARTHA HORTON m. 1757
Posted by: Larry Horton (ID *****1601) Date: July 25, 2005 at 08:13:40
  of 1756

Seeking information on Peter Byram who married Martha Horton daughter of Hugh Horton II in 1757. Records (Overwharton Parish, Stafford Co., Virginia) show that Martha had two children- Benjamin & Winifred Horton in the 1750s with father unknown. Many researchers have assumed that this Martha and Martha Horton (Hugh Horton II) are the same person. If this is true, these children were born out of wedlock and retained their mother's surname, I believe that I am a descendant of Benjamin Horton born 26 August 1750. Assuming this all to be true, Benjamin should show up on a tithable tax list between 1766-1770. My assumption is that these children would be living with their mother in Peter Byram's home along with their son Fielding Byram. Does anybody know where (Parish,County,State) Peter Byram was living in 1766-1770?
